Since the early morning
I saw many pilgrims walking
towards the place where the church
of Beta Giorgios is located
so I headed there to found
hundreds of white dressed pilgrims
around the most scenic church of this place
bowing and praying.

Since I've visited Lalibela already
eleven years ago
in the previous days
I was a bit disappointed
to see how the place has grown
and how the main churches
are now covered by scaffoldings
to prevent them from deteriorate
(it will take years to repair
but Beta Giorgios is free of them!!!).

But here I was lucky
the day I was leaving the place
to have the chance to find again
the magic atmosphere
I felt several years ago
when I discovered the fist time
the lost heart of Lalibela.
