[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I met an Eritrean army media officer in Assab, the southern garrison town of Eritrea. He took me to some of the poorest parts of the town. Here we took photos of this little girl. Afterwards, a stranger came along and gave us all a hard time for taking the girls photo, this despite the girls mother giving permission. A brief fist fight broke out and the man was driven off by two extremely angry women. A woman scorned........

I really like the composition here, with the little girl and the woman in the back, both wearing the same colors. Nice shot.

A sympathetic portrait of a child living in what must be difficult circumstances. That sympathy is reinforced by the choice of your stance and an expression on the child's face which seems a mixture of embarrasment and bemusement, but which is thankfully not passive.
