It had been conceived by the Imhotep architect, whose memory is as famous as that of the Pharaon. This pyramid with steps is the superposition of six mastabas, buildings funerary of rectangular form. Dug deeply under the structure, in the rock of the ground, the rooms are where rested Djoser and eleven members of his family. The Pharaon room was equipped with pink granite and was sealed, by a three tons stone, which did not prevent it from being plundered since Antiquity.
