Photographer's Note

A shot of the temple of Abu Simbel, which, as far as I recall is 30 m high and 35 m wide and shows 4 monumental statues of Ramses II. It is close to a smaller temple which was build in honor of Nefertari, Ramses II favorite wife. The temple on the picture was moved by the Unesco from its original site and rebuild like a puzzle on this new place in the 50s. I also recall our guide (Mohamed - in the lowe left as a size reference) telling us that in the original temple the light entered the chamber twice a year: on Ramses II birthday and the day he was crowned and that after the temple was moved it didn't work the same way.

This place is marvellous. When got to see the sky at night and it was absolutely stunning, completely free of clouds or smog.
