This is quite a touristy shot from my recent trip to Egypt, and Egypt is quite a touristy place. In fact I dont think I have ever seen such a concentration of tourists as I experienced at the valley of the kings and at this place, the temple in Luxor. In a way it doesnt distract from the awesome scale of the monuments, but its quite impossible (for me) to find any angles or images that have not been seen so many times before.
One real advantage of my new digital canon over my old film camera is its ease of use in low light conditions. It would have been very difficult to get this shot without a tripod before, but now its effortless.

This is way better than your average "touristy shot". I like the angle and composition here. The lighting makes everything look so mysterious. The exposure is perfect and nothing is washed out, or under exposed. The color is great. Nice work.

I think you are wrong to say this is a touristy shot....if it is, it certainly is above the norm. It's a great shot with interesting shadows. The warm lighting suits it as well.

I'm really impressed by the handheld exposure, it came out great. I like the PoV, the details on the obelisk and the superb colours. Well done!

Very good shot, David! Great composition and amazing colours. I like the original PoV.
Tu aurais peut être pu effacer le petit rectangle blanc en bas?

Despite your obstruction I think you were still able to take a very dramatic picture.

I love the way the lighting works in this one also. The place may be touristy, in your words, but I think the shot is quite original. Wonderful shot. I can't wait to go there.

David, another great capture, as you describe in your note and can be seen in the background sky, in low light conditions. Nice depth here, with elements both in the forefront and back, coupled with great detail seen in the carved stone.

Touristy it may be, but a country...
Great capture here, you've managed the light really well, and the details are excellent. I can even see the hieroglyphics on the stones in the background.
oh yes and welcome the digital domain!

Oh, I LOVE Luxor. Without doubt one of my favorite places in Egypt. I like you pov here with a good light on the first sculpture and the more golden light behind. Great how you managed to include the hieroglyphes too.
