Kom Ombo temple is located 48km norh of Aswan. It is one of the temples that is frenquently visited by tourists in the evening since it is beautifully lit. It dates from the greek-roman period and was buit during the 1st century AD. The temple is dedicated to two gods: Horus (falcon head) and Sobek (crocodile). Because of this, it has the architectural particularity of begin doubled: two entrances, two main alleys, two sanctuaries.

This was the occasion for me to try out my new tripod though it ended up being a very stressful experience as I was traveling with a group and therefore did not have the leisure to walk around as I wished to take photos. In fact I simply limited myself to setting up the tripod wherever the group happened to stop and took a few shots as our guide was giving explanations. So anyway, here you have the result: one of my very first slow speed image with a tripod. Hope you like it!

salut Brigitte,
amicalement

Nice nightshot Brigitte, well exposed. I visited Kom ombo some years ago in the evening but then it wasn't lit so I guess that is a new thing. The "ghost" keeper adds scale to the composition and a nice touch is the inclusion of the moon. Looking forward to see more of your Egypt photos. Beau travail!

Bon dimanche, Jean-Yves

Hi Brigitte! I really like your Egypt photos. All are taken exceptionally, accompanied with useful notes. The lighting and sharpness in this photo is very nice, the colors are wonderful to look at and the structure is so real! A fine addition to your series. rgds.

Very good night shot of this ancient temple. I like to see the orange colour of these big stones, very well defined and with this beautiful black sky heightening the scene and the luminous moon. Good POV to get this composition. Well done Brigitte.
I also have a photo of K-O, of the entrance, but I didn't have a tripod, I used a big broken rock as a tripod, sometimes the imagination has to work hard!
Just a note: In my Kom-Ombo photo, first I located it in "Aswan aswan" but now I have seen another photo of this temple, located in "Aswan Kom-Ombo" I think it's better so I have change it. Maybe it is of your interest.
