Pyramid of Khufu

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Large version viewable.
The Pyramid of Khufu [Cheops; c.2585-2560 B.C.E.], is the largest of the three principal pyramids on the Giza Plateau. It is 450 feet/137.2 meters in height.
The white oblong building on the south side of Khufu’s pyramid houses one of the boats buried with the king which has been reconstructed.
Considered to represent the pinnacle of the Pyramid Age, the Great Pyramid is the epitome of the knowledge and experience of all previous pyramids. Khufu had every advantage in growing up in an atmosphere of the several pyramid building projects of his father Sneferu.
In light of this it becomes easier to understand that Khufu was more than qualified to oversee and organize the grand task of building the monument that is the only surviving member of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Also seen here is the head of the Sphinx. |

very nice one Stephen,
The big one is realy nice, very good angle you took this one. I like it very much, good job
Hi Stephen, the series continue and the enjoyment remains high, nice composition putting emphasis on the sphynx but enclosed in its environment. I really like the colors you get out of your camera, they are beautiful and superbly saturated, I name them "clean", colors that please the eye. The good light helps them shine better.
