Flying shadow Photo

Photographer’s Note

Daily life in the suburbs of El Tor town, the capital of South Sinai Peninsula, Egypt. I went there in an unplanned trip with a local boy I met in Saint Catherine and we had just visited his cousin that was studying in the town. The light at the end of the day was making my camera busy and while waiting for a taxi I saw this flying shadow trying to go away with the wind. Before the taxi arrived I was lucky enough to see the laundry's owner coming out to catch it.

A really wonderful and fancy shot. This scenery is really eyecatching and these shadows are so intriguing. Trula not an everyday photo ... I like it a lot!

What a picture - you've captured a moment of real life - it's amazingly dynamic! I think that the woman in the picture has also contributed by designing the colourful scheme of the laundry hanging out!

Não deve ser uma tarefa fácil estender roupas nesse varal.Gostei da figura de linguagem poética que você usou " sombras voando e tentando ir embora com o vento"(+ ou -) o que entendi.Parabéns pela interessante captura.

I love to watch washing blowing on the line; it seems to dance. The late light is making some wonderful big shadows. I can imagine your joy when the lady of the house came out to attend to it. I'm surprised she covered her face even when at home. Good shot

na miniatura parece um monte de peles de cabra ao sol. Belo flagrante do dia a dia da mulher, com sua face tapada, bela luz e boa posição da personagem, luz dourada, muito interessante

Afinal não é só em Portugal que se estende roupa nas varandas!!!
Está muito bonta e gosto muito da imagem formada pela sombra na parede, pois dá a ideia de uma vaca pendurada de cabeça para baixo!!! (Não te rias!!!!!)

Hi Ricardo, I love the view of the drying laundry. These shadows are very funny. And the things look quite common - no ghalabiyas. maybe just sleeping gowns.. Nice warm colours.

As roupas extendidas na fachada do apartamento são típicas do Egito, uma cena que me chamou a atenção ao viajar por lá. A luz da sua foto é ótima, criando belo efeito de sombras. Bom ver a senhora na varanda, adicionando importante detalhe vivo á foto.

Olá Ricardo,
Mais um retrato muito vivo e colorido do quotidiano egípcio! O enquadramento está óptimo e aproveitaste bem a luz do fim do dia, que combina às mil maravilhas com a parede amarelo torrado. E além de apanhares uma pessoínha, ela até está de lenço da cara e tudo, para deixar claro que é um país muçulmano. A sombra é realmente muito interessante. Dando uma de riclopes, diria que me faz lembrar um touro bem grande voador, quiçá arraçado de insecto, pois tem patas que nunca mais acaba. :D

belo instantaneo com esta senhora a estender a roupa.
Interessante este contraste com o quotidiano a que estamos habituados a ver por cá onde as pessoas estendem a roupa da forma mais descontraida, até porque muitas vezes o fazem no meio da arrumação da casa, enquanto que na foto esta senhora nos aparece de cara velada.
A sombra 'gorda' na parede e o movimento da roupa que podemos perceber são pormenores dinamicos bem captados.

It appears that the lady is trying her best to catch the flying shadow! Good daily life scene & there's wind evident here from the clothes. Wind aids flying, so she has to try harder I guess :-). The shutters also add to the compo. Well done!

perfecta captura de la vida cotidiana en este toma, en la que has captado una escena sencilla y dinámica, con una gran calidad de imagen y unos colores muy vivos y naturales.
Pero lo más interesante y espectacular es el grafismo que nos ofrecen las sombras de la ropa tendida sobre la fachada, gracias a un ángulo muy bien escogido y a un perfecto control de la fuerte luz.
Es una foto magnífica, amigo mío.
