...from the white desert. Again. Since many of you hadn't heard about this amazing place before and it's so poorly exhibited in TE, I decided to upload a more abstract one.

What about the SCALE? Try to guess first and after take a look at the WS.

Tourists don't usually stop on this spot, before they reach the monoliths area that I showed you in the previous posts, but fortunately we had a flat and while the driver was repairing it, I took the chance for a little walk. Unfortunately, this was even earlier than the previous images, so the light was not the best of the day, but I still wanted to show you how surrealist a desert can be.

For the ones that are seeing this place for the first time, this is NOT SALT NOR SNOW. It's CHALK rock. Occasional sandstorms creates this natural art.
For more information take a look at my previous posts:

White desert at sunset

The shadow of the Horse

Hi Ricardo,
Wow, what a landscape! like so many others it seems I have also not heard of this place before. I would have never guessed you cold find chalk in the desert but it really is some landscape and you've captured it well. I agree the light is not that fantastic but you've done well with what's available and worked a good composition too. I like the inclusion of the horizon as it gives us a good sense of the size of the area.
Nice shot and thanks for showing!
Regards
Lee

Olá Ricardo,

The workshop give us a good idea of what size some of these features are. Very large in comparison to the person walking under them. Excellent composition showing the wave like shapes for a long way across. The place seem very interesting but moreso the way thse features take shape. Thanks Ricardo.

Roberto

Bonjour Ricardo
Quel paysage étrange. On se croirait sur une autre planète ! La nature propose des choses assez extraordinaires. C'est un joli cliché.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

Hello Ricardo,

I am happy to see your photos of white desert because I am starting to think to go there this autumn. It is so strange and magical that I want to see by myself and to take photo.
Good title here: it is true it is really looking like waves.

Yves.

Hi Ricardo. Well seen and well captured. This almost has the look of wind blown snow also. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good week, Paul.

Ola Ricardo

Good repetition of the salt pans looking like meringue, or whipped cream, interspersed with the red sand. Superb colour & sharpness. Tfs!

Olá Ricardo,
Another superb shot! ooo How many waves are there ???
I should go to this place (not in Summer) but I don't know that I can take pictures like yours:)
Best regards,

Hi Ricardo,
Must be very special to be in the middle of such a beautiful and impressive landscape full of those small white hills in the desert. A great view over this landscape, very special. Thanks for sharing!

You're teasing us Ricardo. After we saw the scale of the last one I thought these "waves" would be much bigger, just like you expected? ;D Ok so the light is not as good but there are some good contrasts and the interest value is sky high. Well done

Ricardo, you are always finding yourself in dazzling and weird landscapes and bringing back strange and wonderful images. This one is another in that collection and very exciting too. Regards kevin

Carlos

but i'd welcome warmly something "fresh"...

Oi Ricardo, amazing place... never heard about it. I will go to Egipt in October, do you know if it is possible to make a one day trip to here from Cairo? How far is it from there? to the north or shouth?

Well, the picture really good, great contrast of colours, good sharpness and texture. Thanxs for sharing it! Chau chau,

Amazing lands..
Beautiful capture with sensible frame concept.
Excellent quality.

Hi Ricardo
Can't believe my eyes. This type of places exists in our planet?! First I thought it was salt but when I read in the note it's not salt but rock chalk I was surprised. The artwork by the nature is amazing. And congrats for you in discovering this by that extended walk due to the flat tyre. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ricardo. Without reading your informative note I could not have got the nuances of this marvellous shot. Really surrealistic. Was wondering about your selection of a perfect POV. Regards.
Partha

Ola Ricardo
The chalk rock (yes, I also thought them to be salt as first), looks like small wavelets of whipped cream. I was wondering why you did not post the WS pic. as the original..that's more lively than this one. Amazing place really..must be very difficult to photograph without any 'landmarks' in place! Good work my friend
Best Regards
Angshu

Hi Ricardo
Again great capture of this amazing place. It looks like the waves on the sea during a not strong wind ;).

Hello Ricardo!
One more fantastic picture in your Egypt gallery. I like this a lot, this picture really makes you feel that you are standing in the middle of the wonderful place. You´re right, I haven´t seen this place in TE before, so I do appreciate all your shots of the white desert a lot. I also like your WS very much, it´s also a really good picture and you can compare the size of the dunes very well with the car.
Thanks a lot for sharing and I´m already looking forward to your next pictures,
Jonas

Qual é distância do Cairo aqui?

Hi Ricardo,

A true playing field for skateboarder !!! A really curious and interesting landscape. Beautiful management of the lights on these natural sculptures. Pretty glance and thank you for the WS, I had the impression that these waves were larger…

Olá Ricardo,
F

Hello Ricardo,

One can easily imagine quite a different scale, where the chalk rocks are much larger and more like mountains..!
The strange landscape is captured with fine texture and sharp fine details, attractive colour palette!
