Photographer's Note

The mosque Aldahaar in Hurghada, built between the main street and the sea.The 'interior is not finished yet, but you can already see the beauty of the main decorations. The exterior is rather suggestive, the movement of the sun during the day gives each hour a different color to its walls.
Hurghada is a city in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt. It is a main tourist center and second largest city (after Suez) in Egypt located on the Red Sea coast.
The city was founded in the early 20th century, and since the 1980s has been continually enlarged by Egyptian and foreign investors to become the leading seashore resort on the Red Sea. Holiday villages and hotels provide aquatic sport facilities for sailboarders, yachtsmen, scuba divers and snorkelers.
Hurghada stretches for about 36 kilometres (22 mi) along the seashore, and it does not reach far into the surrounding desert. The resort is a destination for Egyptian tourists from Cairo, the Delta and Upper Egypt, as well as package holiday tourists from Europe, notably Italians and Germans. Until a few years ago it was a small fishing village. Today Hurghada counts 248,000 inhabitants and is divided into three parts: Downtown (El Dahar) is the old part; Sekalla is the city center, and El Memsha (Village road) is the modern part. Sakalla is the relatively modest hotel quarter. Dahar is where the town's largest bazaar, the post office and the long-distance bus station are situated.
The city is served by the Hurghada International Airport with scheduled passenger traffic to and from Cairo and direct connections with several cities in Europe. The airport has undergone massive renovations to accommodate rising traffic. Hurghada is known for its watersports activities, nightlife and warm weather. Daily temperature hovers round 30 degrees celsius most of the year. Numerous Europeans spend their Christmas and New Year holidays in the city, primarily Germans, Russians and Italians.

LA MOSCHEA SUL MARE

La moschea di Aldahaar a Hurghada,costruita tra la via principale della città ed il mare.L’interno non è ancora ultimato, ma è già possibile scorgere la bellezza delle decorazioni principali. L’esterno invece è suggestivo, il movimento del sole durante il giorno, conferisce ad ogni ora un colore diverso alle sue mura.
Hurghada è una città egiziana e rinomata meta turistica nel Mar Rosso. È il capoluogo del Governatorato del Mar Rosso.
Hurghada si allunga per circa 40 km lungo la costa, non inoltrandosi mai eccessivamente all'interno del deserto.
La località è una meta tipica dei pacchetti vacanze all-inclusive offerti dalle agenzie viaggi europee, in particolare russe, ceche, italiane e tedesche, ma fino a pochi anni addietro era ancora un semplice villaggio di pescatori. Oggi invece ha oltre 100.000 abitanti ed è divisa in tre località principali: Downtown (El Dahar) è la parte più vecchia, Sekalla più moderna e El Korra Road l'ultima realizzata nel tempo. Sakkala consta di alcuni hotel di categoria intermedia, a Dahar vi sono il bazaar, l'ufficio postale e la stazione dei bus.
L'attuale città è sorta non distante dall’antico porto di Myos Hormos, importante centro di scambio in epoca tolemaica.
Fino agli anni ottanta era un villaggio di pescatori. Dal punto di vista turistico, era conosciuta fin dai primi anni ’70 da alcuni viaggiatori e subacquei che desideravano immergersi nelle acque del Mar Rosso. Dopo pochi anni, in seguito all’impulso turistico ed economico avviato dal presidente Sadat e con l'apporto di investitori statunitensi, europei e arabi, ha conosciuto un progressivo sviluppo turistico. Progressivamente il villaggio di pescatori e la zona circostante si sono notevolmente trasformati a seguito della costruzione di numerosi hotel, strutture e villaggi turistici.
Il 2 febbraio 2006 avvenne nel Mar Rosso, a circa 70 km da Hurghada, uno dei peggiori disastri marittimi della storia: la nave Al Salam Boccaccio 98 con a bordo 1.272 passeggeri e 104 membri dell'equipaggio affondò in seguito ad un incendio durante la navigazione tra Arabia Saudita ed Egitto. Tra morti e dispersi si contrarono circa 1.000 persone.

J'aime beaucoup le point de vue sur la mosquée. Le plan d'eau apporte de la profondeur à l'image. On peut constater en regardant les bateaux qu'il y a du monde riche en Égypte .

si sente sempre parlare di questa località turistica, ma in definitiva se ne conosce sempre poco, io ad esempio non conoscevo l'esistenza di questa bella moschea. Hai trovato un bel punto per riprenderla, sottolineandala con la striscia di mare, interessante il contrasto tra la costruzione e le barche.

Bella cartolina con un Hurghada familiare. Purtroppo, è attualmente in Egitto, gli sconvolgimenti politici e disordini, causati dalla arroganza del potere. Grande moschea con due minareti alti, alti. Alla moschea, spiaggia e porticciolo con barche moderne.

I don't normally think of mosques being built right next to the sea but this is a wonderful setting for this religious building.

You have captured it perfectly too: the bright sunlight is lovely but not overly strong so that we can see all the fine details of this magnificent building. The mosque itself is perfectly placed in the frame with its tall spires and multiple domes and the boats add some excellent foreground interest.

Beautiful bright colours, lovely light, perfect exposure and stunning details and sharpness.

A beautiful capture of a stnning building, my untrained eye is not used to Eastern architecture, and I would have presumed that this were an old building were it not for your note. Amazing how slender the minneretts are, and the blue sea in front is amazingly rich. Really really nice, cheers

imagine if you could, to replace the blue water with sand...the photo would lose visual impact.
that little strip of blue provides such an important contrast, and it certainly pops out at the viewer.

La distance entre la mer et la mosquée donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture de la mosquée Aldahaar. Lqa bonne luminosité rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bon dimanche.

Une très belle vue sur la Mosquée d'Hurghada. Etonnant de voir dautant de bateaux luxueux juste devant la maison d'Âllah...
Une architecture typique aussi. Et une gestion de la lumière bien réussie.

Souvenir pour moi Hurghada, une très jolie vue sur la mosquée avec le port, une lumière forte ou t'en est bien sorti, peut un peu moins pour le ciel, mais a qui cela n'arrive t il jamais :-)

Interesting view of this new mosque. fine minarets and these small domes. Excellent sharpness and nice composition with the boats. What a terrible tragedy of the ship! !000 people, almost as on Titanic and I haven't heard about it, anyway, I do not remember it. Probably they were just poor people.

preciosa arquitectura de la mezquita al lado del mar, bien destacada sobre el cielo y con un bonito contraste con el azul intenso del agua y con la blancura de los yates de lujo.
La composición es muy limpia y tiene una gran riqueza gráfica, una buena luminosidad y unos colores naturales, que le dan una alta calidad.

You're capturing well this mosque by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the elegant mosque with small/large domes and two tall pole. It's good at exterior with gentle tone, too. It's impressive that this is faced to red sea and many ships anchored to the port in front of mosque.

ti devo dire che a me questi posti non mi esaltano proprio a pensar di andarci a fare delle vacanze...
poi vedo le foto che ci riesci a tirar fuori e allora rimango davvero sorpreso
le cose sono 2 o io mi sbaglio con il mio giudizio su questi posti o tu sei un grande fotografo che riesce sempre a tirar fuori dei capolavori con le tue idee interpretazioni tagli e prospettive e soprattutto colori
sono propenso nel credere che sia più vera la seconda affermazione...
come in questa foto molto semplice dove il colore del mare si contrasta benissimo con il sabbia della moschea
cmq colgo l'occasione per un caloroso abbraccio e per un augurio per 2013 ricco di soddisfazioni e di tante e tante foto
