Photographer’s Note

Before reaching Aswan the Nile boats stop at Kom Ombo, a relatively new temple dating from tghe Ptolemaic period. We reached it at night, I was sorry to be late there after the blue hour, because the temple is elegantly illuminated. There are low lights under columns and walls and the carvings come out beautifully. An attendant posed for me near one of these spots, and the low light created a bizarre effect on his face.
