Photographer’s Note
I took this picture many years ago in the Edfu temple i Egypt. It is a scan from an old color slide, taken with a Pentax ME and a 24 mm Takumar.
The wide angle allows to take the subject without shooting directly to him, so that he does not think he is included in the frame.

This is a really sharp photo considering it's 11 years old! I do like the wide angle here, as you were able to fully include the man, and the beautiful inscriptions on the wall and pillars.

Ciao Stefano, bel ritratto per luce, colori, qualità e per il "mood" che ha l'immagine, con gli abiti vecchio stile, il volto semicoperto e i geroglifici tutti intorno.
una foto fuori dal tempo.

Very good shot - composition, the light and colours played really well! It's hard to believe it was taken such a long time ago...

Hi Stefano,
I love your positioning of the man in this beautiful environment.
The use of your WA did miracles to this composition.

Ciao Stefano,
I am surprised your shot got no more visit: sometimes TE is strange...
I really like this portrait which is a good illustration of what can be done with a wide angle: putting the subject in its environnement. Here it is much more than only a travel-remember photo.
I have also used sometimes the wide-angle to take photo of people who did not think they can be in the frame.
Really, this photo is good,
Yves.

Questo scatto merita molto di più di quello che ha raccolto.
E' perfetto. Purtroppo viviamo in un mondo imperfetto.
Intensa espressione, giusta metafora, colori caldi.
Bravo

Hello Stefano,
Wonderful portrait ! The usage of this wide angle allows for a very large depth of field including this fantastic background.
Have a nice week-end.
Best regards, Christian

Ciao Stefano,
Bravo !

S: environmental portraits don't get any better than this. Appreciating the unified color gamut as well. Fine atmosphere and very informative background. Fully green, cheers, c1

Ciao Stefano
I didn't for one moment think that this was not a digital picture till I read your notes. Great scan. But as a picture, this is really good with the person in the perfect position looking into the frame with the details of the drawings clearly visible in the BG. Very good work Stefano.
