Inside Edfu Temple Photo

Photographer’s Note

In Egypt I discovered that it is possible to use a tripod inside temples: The cost is not prohibitive so I was happy to carry it along almost at all times during my visits. Less noise, and the chance to use an appropriate aperture. Also a chance to get sharp backgropunds but slightly blurred motions: This one was taken inside Edfu temple where it was really dark. Two chatting temple attendants.

It seems you came back from Egypt with a lot of treasures! I like very much this one again. The light is very well handled. I love the long shadow on the wall; the hues of the dress that matches perfectly to the wall in the background, the details of the sculptures on the pillar and the abandoned attitude of the guy with exactly the face I can imagine to a genie coming out from his bottle! Bravo!!!

Dear Master,

Your experienced skill plays with lights enviably. Using the bulb as a light source between guards are excellent idea with its spectacular effect of giant shadow on giant column. Colorful next columns are great addition too. Congratulations. Have a nice new week.

Tripod'a izin vermeleri gerçekten şaşırtıcı. Bu harika karelerinizi gördükçe bir sonrakini inanılmaz merak ediyorum.Modelleriniz sanki 2 konuşmayan kardeşler ve yüzü bize dönük olanın ifadesi müthiş,sanki size biraz kızmış gibi bakıyor, arkadaki gölgesi de içindeki öfkeyi gösteriyor sanki.Renkler, duvardaki kabartmalar müthiş.

O denli büyüleyici ve gizemli ki, Binbir Gece Masallarından bir iç mekân sahnesi gibi sanki. Duvarda beliren dev gölge, ışık ve renk geçişleri bu etkiyi daha da arttırmış.

Işık, gölge, renk, doku, insan, tarih... saya saya bitmeyen bir dolu ögenin bir fotoğrafta enfes bir kompozisyonla birleşimi ancak bu kadar olur...

It's nice to hear that's possible use tripod inside temples.
Of course, if I want to do it, before I must to go there... and that sounds nice, but it's a trip you can every day.
Anyway, before travel to Egypt I can enjoy your pictures.

Have you gone to Egypt by yourself or you have been with more people?
I mean, that I know people who say me: don't go there alone and always with more people.

Wow, fantastic shot! I really like the way you used the shadow of the man to create this mysterious mood. The presence of the temple carvings and decorations adds a lot to the mood also, making this seem like some ancient intrigue. Great work!

I love this shot, and at the same time feel frustrated, that when I was at the same place, I did not have a tripod. Your note points out how useful it is to have a tripod, especially in places where they allow its use. Of course, the composition and colors are superb, pure surpassing Keribar!
