The ancient temple of Hathor and Nefertari (a.k.a. Small Temple) was built in Abu Simbel next to the temple of pharaoh Ramesses II and was dedicated to the goddess Hathor and Nefertari-Ramesses II's wife. This was the second time in egyptian history that a temple was dedicated to a queen.
Because of security reasons, it is possible for foreign travellers to reach Abu Simbel only in a police convoy.
There is usually one daily convoy. And so, all busses arrive at the same time early in the morning and leave the place 2 hours later.

Outstanding colors! I always like a combination blue and yellow colors. Some strange to see the people in the winter clothes in Egypt. I was here on February of 2005 and I remember that we had a police convoy too, it was in so calm peaceful Egypt. It is old (1990th) low for the foreign tourists after some tragedy in desert.
