Photographer’s Note
In my last post from the streets of Alexandria, laziness, I might have given the idea that I was saying that people in Alexandria were lazy. Well, that's not at all what I pretended to insinuate and maybe the title wasn't the best choice. It was very hot, no costumers were at sight and vendors get sleepy in tedium. Some smoke or talk with each other as seen in my previous post, or like the vendor seen here, think about the worries of life. It's the boring slow hours.
This was taken in one of the many market streets, in the center of Alexandria.

Ricardo,
Linda foto,a migo.

Hi Ricardo
A good daily life scene from Alexandria, Egypt. The repose of the obese man does suggest boredom. Good repetition of the fish. Tfs!

Super ricardo
Quite a good POV, focused on this big bunch of herrings and leading the eyes to this seller, half sleeping, half waiting for the customer

Excellent !
Amitiés.

Hi Ricardo,
It even seems that it did not see you this tradesman !!! If the weather were very hot I also think that the good odor of smoked fish was to titillate the nose... Beautiful and interesting composition treated with humour. Thank you Ricardo.

Hello Ricardo.
I like this daily life shot, especially the way the man is pushed into the corner behind all those fish. You can almost smell the fish! He looks rather bored and resigned, as suggested in your title. It's a good composition with strong depth of field and perspective, and it's full of detail. Well done.

TFS,
Um abraço,

Olá Ricardo,
You captured an enviable live scene from street that I like it a lot. Especially locally produced dried fishes are giving some clues about fishery around there and their repeating graphics, slope of stand best part too while hiding the seller slightly. Excellent capture, well detailed under good light.

Hi Ricardo,
We know the “Lazy Sunday afternoon” and this picture expresses this beautifully.
Everybody is waiting for a little cooling down when the sun will disappear after the houses and everybody will buy some fish for the evening meal.
But a remarkable boring and limited choice in fish.

vixi... deu pra sentir o mal cheiro daqui, hehe!!!

I like this one, Ric!
Don't know why but I'm a sucker for stalls and markets,
and have never seen dried fish sold like that in Egypt.
Seems like the trade wasn't going well for this seller,
hence his sitting on the stool and probably falling
asleep...
Interesting!

Hello Ricardo,
He really needs some customers if he shall get rid of all that fish by the end of the day!
Seems to me they are some kind of smoked fish as judged by the colour, but I'm not familiar with the species so I can't really say...
Good point of view and fine dynamics, sharp fine details!

Come on Ricardo, you cannot expect those shop-keepers make belly-dancing in a depressive weather, which is hot (maybe above 35 degrees in May) and humid :) Of course they have the right to fall asleep. What I mean is, tendency of falling asleep is directly related to the temperature :)

hi Ricardo
At noon in the tropical countries, it will be hot and humid and that is normally the best time for a short nap. So when most traders find the sale very quiet and slow, they take a nap! But dont try to steal a fish or item of food without paying, they can wake up and see you! :)
Very interesting daily life scenery of dried fish and imagine how many dinner tables they can fill for families?
...and his stool is TILTED! He may be falling.

He seems to be bored stiff with all the salt & pickle around. But what about the smell...in the open air in 30 C, the smell would be spreading far & wide. Well composed with the diagonal of the racks & our protagonist in the left corner. A good slice of daily life depicted here

Aah, this is such a common sight in Egypt--people sitting and waiting. You really have to be comfortable with the company of your own thoughts to live there, I think. There are a LOT of "boring slow hours." I like the way you filled the frame with mostly the fish, crowding the man off to one side.
The one problem with the image is that it's somewhat cluttered. Perhaps you could have cropped off everything above the fish, and a little from the right side.
Happy New Year, Ricardo! Regards, Ken.
