While diving at Jackson Reef in of the coast of Sharm el Sheik, tragedy occured. As I came out of the water I noticed smoke from one of the boats. One of the boats in the group caught fire. The dive instructors told us to get on our boat immediately. Soon after the 30 boats sorrounding the one on fire scattered. Within 5 minutes the boat was completely engulfed in flames. Thankfully all the crew and passengers were able to get off the boat in time with only the captain sustaining some non life threatening burns.
Within 12 minutes the boat was completely gone. Luckily the boat drifted away from the reef and sank into deeper waters. The captains whole life was on that boat. He lost his home and will no doubt lose his job. Very sad all around. The passengers and crew boarded our boat and after everyone was accounted for were were escorted by the Navy back to harbor. Everyone did a very professional job with the evacuation and the follow up of this tragedy and I applaud them and pray that the captain and crew will be ok
