One year ago I spent a week in Sharm el-Sheikh. I do not specially like to lie on the beach but snoerkelling in Red Sea was fantastic. So I planned to go once more there this year to enjoy swimming. Who would think that it will not be possible. I am very worried about what is going on in Egypt. I am terrified to hear that the museum collections are in danger.
Quiet evening in Sharm el Sheikh.

A vertical formta well selected for a beautiful....verticla composition. The differents vertical elements ( minarets, palm tress) well located in the composition give an image very graphic, rich in dynamism, in rythm.

To zdaje sie kompletniw pokrzyzuje mu plany.
Urokliwy zakatek, ciekawe wieczorne swiatlo. Ja bym pewnie odcial troche nieba, jestem raczej przyziemnym fotografem.

I suppose the events in Egypt at the moment make very photo uploaded exta interesting and poignant, especially one with such a calm atmosphere, taken a year ago. How much things change! Surely the museums will be safe; it's not the Taliban this time. Anyway, this photo is very sharp and clear, and the light is wondrous. You did a very good job of this, against the very pale, bright sky. Beautiful palms, large urns, the dome and fine towers, all make a beautiful picture.
Maybe crop just one tree from the right side to make the photo have a more vertical emphasis? Just an idea.

light of this photo is marvellous! Very nice even the POV that frames the minarets among Palm trees. Think that these days I was supposed to be in Egypt! For now it is not possible!

Ciao Margherita. Vertical elements and good colours against the soft cold BG. Best compliments.

Hi Malgorzata, Gorgeous architecture & a photo that has beauty through-out, lovely gardens & great sharp detail, me & my wife were meant to travel to Egypt on Monday to go down the Nile & end up at Cairo, however the holiday firm have called it off, it's a shame but understandable, kind regards Wilson.

Szkoda byloby jakichkolwiek strat. Zwykle sa jakies straty przy takich zamiszkach. A wakacje to w Egipcie sa raczej niemozliwe, mam nadzieje ze moze dojda do porozumienia, to byloby najlepsze rozwiazanie. No ale?????
Bardzo ciekawa budowla i jej architektura. Fajne kolorki i ostrosc, dobre POV oraz kompozycja. Podoba mi sie.

This quiet and peaceful scene, with such a beautiful nature and well proportioned architecture, shows that Egypt was and hopefully will be again a very good place for rest, recreation and travels. Perfectly well composed and masterfully captured, with wonderful light, nice colors and very high quality!
I am glad that our cities are partners from now,
AKITA (15125) 2011-02-02 21:43
this sentimental evening atmosphere is wonderful,
the settled light and tranquil colors make me feel special lone ambience,
twin sharp towers and lots of palm trees are well composed,
and set pots are strange and attractive too,
thank you for your excellent poetic shot,

Ciao cara Malgo
I agree with your Note. It is such a pity that these terrible things are going on in Egypt. I hope they are returned to peace soon and that their treasure are not damaged. Beautiful light here and the vertical format was chosen well to accentuate the height of the minarets. I truly hope you are able to come back to this magnificent place.

Przepiêkny meczet we wspania³ym egzotycznym otoczeniu.

In the mornin and evening can you take the best pictures, certainly for the light.
The two towers are exactly two fingers toward the heaven.
Also your subject has a lot attraction
You did very well with a very well result.
These picture is very well taken, good of colors, nice sharpness and clarity.
Very well presentation, TFS.

beautiful image of this great country, the building is impressive, good light management, I hope everything goes normal soon in this country,
ikeharel (72903) 2011-02-03 8:04
You were right about Egypt, but it was not unexpected, to my oppinion.
Nice evening photo as low light prevailes, yet interesting to see lavish vegetation on ground, not as I remember 8/1978 visit.
macjake (69173) 2011-02-03 11:48
yes, going to Egypt right now may not be the best of ideas, but you will certainly enjoy your trip in the near future i'm sure :)
what inspires me about this photo is the overall atmosphere with the mood lighting and almost hazy look to it. its an atmosphere that is worthy of photographing.
beautiful structure in the background to cap it off.
have a great day

Ciao cara Malgo,
I hope that soon return the calm in Egypt, a Country that lives only of tourism and archaeology. It is really stupid what they have done. However you have published a very beautiful and rare photo of Sharm el Sheikh. It's difficult to see the green in a place where I had the most beautiful snoerkelling. Excellent management of the light, BRAVA!
Ciao, have a nice Friday!
saxo042 (37900) 2011-02-04 7:11
A very beautiful building. I hope it will remainafter the revolution and that life will become much better for the Egyptian people when the present situation is over.
Waylim (25502) 2011-02-04 9:45
This a lovely shot and yes the mood is perfeclty peaceful as you described and hope the country solves it issue soon, so you can visit once more and me too in a few years.
kiasari (62) 2011-02-06 18:45
A nice photo with a good POV and well managed framing. I really like the colors of this shot. TFS.
Angshu (56758) 2011-02-07 20:59
Considering the number of countries you're visiting, you would soon be competing with Achim (JFK)!
The light is beautiful here, almost pastel hue in the sky & the angled POV of the majestic mosque works well. Pity this country is going through political hell now!
InasiaJones (31566) 2011-02-15 0:03
Nicely framed scene, with beautiful warm light and interesting subdued colours.
Vertical frame is appropriate and the overall image suggests a peaceful ambiance, which contrasts with the latest events.
