St. Catherine's Monastery is located at the foot of Mt Sinai where Moses is said to have received the 10 Commandments. The monastery was constructed by order of the Emperor Justinian between 527 and 565 and is built around what is thought to be Moses' Burning Bush which has a chapel built atop it. In this photo the Bell Tower can be seen. It was built in 1871 and holds 9 bells which were donated by Czar Alexander II of Russia. A Mosque built in 1106 can be seen behind the Bell Tower. The buildings are all dwarfed by Mt Sinai at 2285metres.
St Catherines is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Incredible colour Marlene,
Egypt and the Sinai are still on my list to get to one day! beautifully clear and interesting composition.

I agree with Ian: the colours look incredible! what a combination of colours and what a contrast of colours - and what a bright sunny scene! Almost a modernistic painting :)
The composition is excellent, in my opinion! I wish, though, that the top of the tower could be seen, but, taking into account the fact that the photyo includes so many other interesting objects around the tower, being a bit "topless" is OK :)
Warmest greetings from cold Moscow,

Picture with excellent sharpness.
The white and brown colours of the monastery and the pink grey of the mountains create a strong contrast with the blue and white painted sky.
Best regards, Paul

A famous place. I like how your POV makes the buildings almost merge with the steep hillside behind. The colors are striking and beautiful.

A good high contrast shot with the light well managed. The light really accentuates the textures of the brick and stone.
