Photographer’s Note
...trying to get an "original" shot of the pyramids of Giza. ...wishing I had a wider angle lens.
I gotta say, they are impressive, maybe even more so as you see them from different angles throughout Cairo and Giza, driving up to them and watching the pryamids grow larger and larger as they loom over the surrounding city. It's just tough to get an original shot because their are so many shots taken of these icons.

John: I'll agree with your note - and you did the best you could with that lens. Still it's a nice shot with some figures included for scale. best, c

Hi John,
There is a fantastic experience come from far toward and finally reach at this giant and mistery ancient architecture, detail to show layers by stones from foreground to reach at the peak, nice blue sky from the dry land, good shoot, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, tough to take an original of these landmarks, but I think you came pretty darn close. I like the shadow it casts over the land. Another proof that the earth is round.
cheers,

John,
Actually, I really like this. I think you've cracked the original shot thing merely by putting Cairo in the background; the usual method being to make it appear that we're out in the middle of the desert - and the shot is all the more impressive for the city backrop. This, and the decent coloration and detail somehow make the severe tilt almost unnoticable.
Nice one.

This will be my last comment and then I'll just silently admire the rest of your beautiful pictures. I just wanted to say that I think you have captured an original shot of a pyramid, and it's not just the angle, the whole composition is fresh, without looking like it's bending over backwards (or sideways) to be.
