Photographer’s Note
Some Egyptian men on horses ride towards the great pyramid in Egypt late one afternoon. The sun is partly shining through the clouds, illuminating only part of the pyramid.
I spent a whole day at the pyramids by myself just wandering around the desert, ruins and sites, watching the crowds come and go and seeing these structures in the varying light.

Dear David
Certainly I would have done the same, wandering around from early morning till evening, to see as much as possible. And I would return the next day as well. The scene with the 2 riders and the walking man is fine, adding DOF to the picture. The only issue I have is a certain softness of the pyramid. What so ever, you did a great job.
Best regards
Urs

Hi, David,
It's a stunning shot!
Almost, it looks like two different photos, with the three men and their horses in the foreground and then the pyramid behind. Somehow the pyramid doesn't look like it belongs to the same photo, I think because of the sharp horizontal edge in the sand on the right side of the frame where it rises (?) above the base of the pyramid.
Anyway, nicely done and thanks for the post!

Hey David,
This almost looks like something from a movie scene, it has a great feeling about it and is something a bit different from the usual pyramid shots we see. I love the light shining on the top of the pyramid and whatever pp you have done works well for the shot and so does the vertical format.

Stunning shot, David. This image brings to mind Paulo Cuelho's The Alchemist and the profound journey across desert lands to the fabled pyramids, where dreams are realized and treasure awaits. The magnitude of this ancient wonder is really conveyed in this shot! Wonderful lighting and composition, too.

A nice compo David but it's true that there's something puzzling in it that I'm not able to describe at the present time. maybe the light

You'd had to wait for a few hours for this shot! The fine compo coupled with good PP creates a good picture.

Hi, great light and colours. I did the same thing when I was there, just wandered around on my own, posted some of my stuff previously. Its a great place and you've managed to capture yet another dimension of this majestic monument.

HI David,
Great composition, very well seen and captured. The PP is ok, but I see some kind of halo around the pyramid.
Good work overall

It has such an action mood, such a drama atmosphere that looks like a real movie scene David.
Nice composition with horseriders and the man walking by them towards to the pyramide...
Have a nice weekend,

Hi Dave,
A very memorable image, your compositing skills are fantastic.
The judicious way in which you have used PP has produced an image with very good depth and texture. The foreground vignette works a treat
You've got the lighting perfectly. For me, the only obvious discrepancy is that the horse and rider on camera left do not cast a shadow, while the horse and rider on camera right do.
Maybe I'm being too picky :)))
It's a great image.

Hi David,
Very impressive image! the two horses with three guys toward the pyramid have been expertly captured with beautiful lighting and an excellent composition. Vignetting also has got amazing results, and the halo of the top of pyramid is great.

Hi David,
What a beautiful light you've caught on the pyramid, making it even more mystical and dramatic.
This light effect, added to your great foreground elements and subjects, really makes your images look like a movie poster. The colour combination works smoothly and contributes a lot to the "wow factor".
Cleopatra would certainly hang this photo on her wall... :-P)

i don't often comment pyramid pictures, so classic, and i would say always the same
now, this one has the special lighting which made me rate this one
indeed, great because of the cloud shadow on the pyramid, the enlightened area is between two shady areas, and it looks very nice
