Photographer’s Note
The Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt - the largest statue in the world carved from a rock - sits proudly in front of Khafre's pyramid.
Best shot in the morning when the sun is lighting it on the side (I discovered this by spending the whole day at the pyramids site). In PS I made various layers with dark and light exposures (like a makeshift HDR) and painted them in over the top of each other.

This photo of the sphinx in front of the pyramid sure is a masterpiece. I have been to Giza twice, but never got such a good photo. This is great! Clear and sharp but soft sand stone colours at the same time!

You have done an excellent pp work. I really like the strong colours of this classic POV. The place is so big that the people look like ants. Well done.

David: right on, and with as few tourist clutter as possible. Great perspective here. I can tell you must've used a polarizer... best, c

Hi David, your efforts were well rewarded. the only shots I took of the pyramids were terrible, as they were surrounded pollution haze so thick that you couldn't cast a shadow. cheers, Steve

Hi David,
Nice presentation of mysterious Sphinx of Giza. The morning sunlight falling on the structure and blue background with cloud making it a great shot. I like to know step by step post processing, what is HDR?

Hello David,
I like very much this image of the Sphinx, with Chephron's Pyramid (also called Khafre) providing the backdrop. I was there in 1997 but was unable to capture such a lovely juxtaposition. Your post-processing is first rate.
Warm regards,

Hello David,
Scores of photos of this majectic wonder. Each picture is unique in its own right and so is yours. Nicely placed in front of the pyramid.

Hi David,
For me, this is one of the best shot's I've ever seen of the Sphinx, it's usually quite isolated, this dramatic POV works really well.
Some fine post work here, (although you've ended up with some noise in the sky and a few dust spots or are they artifacts), it is a dramatic effect, quite 3D looking.
Very nice work, a great shot.
Cheers
