We were in Cairo - just a few months before the uprising began in 2010. And it was so peaceful that we couldn't just match the photographs in the newspapers with those that we had.
Cairo has been a Tourist destination for centuries.... Moses ....
This is a scene of a quiet alley in Coptic Cairo - that part of Cairo that was predominantly Christian. The narrow alleys look ancient. The people quiet and friendly. There are also a few Churches in the area.
I am not really sure if the peace and quite of the area still exist.... But I suppose life goes on, as is there in those beautifully framed Black & White photographs of Cairo and the Pyramids on a display that covers the full wall. The salesman sits on the patch of sun and shade - reading the newspaper. I guess, he will know when there is a real buyer around.

As Karen says above, this is fascinating as we can look inside your capture and see so many more images, a great idea to shoot this wall like this. In accordance with your note, the scene also seems very peaceful and calm, the light being a big part of that, and of course the man relaxed in his chair. You made me smile with the note that he recognizes real customers!! Perhaps you could sell him the rights to this image and he could profit from having this for sale in his collection also! Then you could take another shot of this shot in that collection and create one of those never ending images. Great composition on this, and a nice unusual idea for the scene.
Have a great week

This good indoor subject to shoot, a nice warm image cleverly arranged well exposed although there appears to be hot spot on top of frame. Good variation of colors grabs attention easily, excellent detail with good impact. Excellent overall capture and approach, Congrats

The vast expanse of pictures makes an excellent perspective directing our attention toward the focal point offered by the salesman/owner. The lighting was not easy, but you have managed it reasonably well. He maybe short of a few customers these days with the tourists staying away, but, as you say, life goes on.

A big place for selling paintings and photos from around Egypt.
Well collected the indoor's view, Arunava, light managed supewbly, and the presence of the man in front gave life to the scene.

Nice capture of this well known Street scenery of Cairo.
Those "artsellers" of Cairo give allways good and interesting themes to photographers and you've managed to catch one of them.
Unfortunately turmoils still going on in this wonderfull country with such an interesting history.
Good TE entry.
TFS and best regards
