Photographer’s Note
Another tribute to the congolese women at work.
This one shows you one of those women working along the Bushimaye river to... crush stones with a hammer.
Building with concrete is a privilege of the very rich in Mbuji Mayi... cement bags come by plane from Kinshasa (2000km away!) and aggregates are produced by these women.
I hope you will appreciate the perfectly calibrated stones they are able to produce with only a very limited waste of fines (there are not many mechanic crushers able to do so).

Interesting photo reportage!
What it indeed makes me to drive crazy is like ago this poor people to being always with the smile. We instead are the eternal little content and are badly when we do not succeed to having a thing. If we only thought a moment to they…
Interessante foto reportage!
Quello che mi fa davvero impazzire è come fa questa povera gente ad essere sempre sorridente.
Noi invece siamo gli eterni incontentabili e stiamo male quando non riusciamo ad avere una cosa.
Se solo pensassimo un attimo a loro...
