One more scanned photo, that as been take in 1994,Kibumba refugee field, July,Goma, north of Lake Kivu, at the boarder with Rwanda, after the Rwanda genocide. At the time 1,5 million dead and 2 million refugees, 100.000 children orphan or alone.
Because the story is being repeated, again and again, everyday, in Sudan, in Chad, Kenya, and many more countries, some reflection about all this violence must be done.
This is my tribute to all the innocent victims of these conflicts, especially woman and children.
Also is a tribute to a friend,Dr. Fernando Nobre, for is long journey against intolerance and indifference. |

a good documentary shot. My father was out there in 1998 with an aid organisation and has first hand experience staying and traveling though Congo and different parts of Africa. Shocking the stories and tales I heard. Such a sad state of affairs. Thank you for sharing. Rgds, Leilani
Hi Jose,
thanks for another shot of yours... This is touching: a sort of unusual, sad family, link togheter by life, even for a moment... But there's a bit of hope.

Olá J.Diogo,
Tal como eu disse noutro comentário, estas pessoas, esta tragédia não pode ser esquecida (porque se vai repetindo). Mas devemos lembrar também toda a gente boa da AMI.
Um abraço,
F
Dear Jose,
Hello again - Your photos haunted me, I had a second look : I like specially this one because it shows hope too... a moving photo, with the expression of the doctor, very soft and attentive !
... It's not the kind of shots that are shown so often in the news, but rather fit for a Médecins Sans Frontières magazine - I hope you find this as a compliment !
Something constructive, healing in a way, if possible...
I would be also happy to see more recent photos regarding your work, if you have returned to Africa (when you'll have finished with this series of course).
Again bravo for what you are doing,
Best regards,
Cath.
Gracias Jose.
