[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Every activity is good to survive in difficult conditions such as those prevailing nowadays in Mbuji Mayi. Stone extraction is probably one of the toughest ones... and it is not sure it is one of the most lucrative. This man as many others around this site is working with a team of women specializing in stone transportation(see WS or this one ).

The picture was taken from the rock cliff dominating this small excavation, hence the strange perspective.

j'aime bien cette photo qui montre une activité très commune la où il existe des routes. Chez nous, tout est fait avec des macines. Là-bas, les gens choisissent le bagne pour survivre...

bonsoir éric,
un petit tour dans ta gallerie et j'ai découvert cette photo. J'aime le travail de la pierre. Ce cliché montre combien c'est dure et ce qu'il faut faire pour obtenir de belles pierres pour les maisons et la décoration. Cette homme ne doit pas s'amuser tous les jours. Le montrer de dos dans cette position démontre la dureté de cette tâche pour le corps humain.

elle est belle ta série sur le Congo, parfois dure, parfois souriante, mais toujours colorée comme cette Afrique qui souffre dans le sourire ! une image d'un autre temps ! le Ws est fort aussi, ces robes de couleurs pour aller travailler la pierre !!
