Photographer’s Note

This river is a tributary of the Bushimaye flowing in the very heart of the Kasaï.
The vegetation cover is typical of this region. Trees are rather scattered because many have already been converted into "makala" (charcoal).
The white tree in the foreground seems to be typical of the calcareous subsoil we found in those regions.
