Not sure what this means. It may be that, in a country as poor as Congo, people want to make use of whatever they have, and NEVER throw anything away - even when it's just one shoe.

this is a powerful image. very powerful indeed
the shoe looks a little fancy so thats seems to make this photograph just a little powerful, but i'm still able to get the essence of your note .
i think you should change the category to "daily life " form "humorous" it makes more sense to me.

The worst is this country (in the past a colony of my country) has enormous natural richnesses. Unfortunately, neither the Belgian colonists, nor the current politicians have acts to improve the live of the population. I really hope the situation will improve but ar the moment, they are again very dangerous in Kivu...
