Photographer’s Note
A huge crowd of children were marching to school this morning. They were singing, had their school uniforms on, backpacks, holding hands. But when they arrived at school, no one was there to greet them or teach them, for their teachers are on strike because they don’t make enough money to make a living. The parents have been given the responsibility to pay the teacher's salary, but in a place where the average income is under $2 (USD) a day, it is a difficult task. So the teachers are protesting until the government steps in and helps (as they've been promising for years). But is it likely there will be any change? The people have been let down before. In the meantime, the kids continue marching to school and around town in their uniforms, waiting for a decision to be made, so that they can finally go back to school.

May be too space on the left of the picture.
Anymays, it's a very good portrait, the light is well balanced.

Great child portrait on a fine bacground (colour and texture).
Interesting but sad story in your note.

Beautiful complimentary colours and tones in this shot James. I love her expression, too... I wonder how this would look cropped into portrait format?
