Photographer’s Note
I realize that normally one shouldn't shoot into sunlight. However, in this case I did so because the subject is enhanced by the light - that is, the tips of her hair "shine" in the sunlight.
I realize that the two boys are distracting, but there isn't much to do about that, is there?

The backlighting works very well in this situation Mr Larson. With two onlookers straddling the main subject I personally think it is OK, but then again, I am commonly guilty of diverging from the norm. Lets class this as revolutionary photography, eh?
Well done David,

The backlighting here works very well. The only proplem being the DOF - too deep. For this, you require an F2 or larger, to throw the BG out of focus. By the way, I forgot to mention, the longer the lens, the shallower the dof comared with a shorter lens shot at the same f-stop, Teles compres perspective. Your best oerall lens for portrais are in the rane of 85 - 135 mm, but a fast lens, for the reason of the dof mentioned.

All your portraits are quite good. I like this one most. I think its the eyes that got my attention.
