Photographer’s Note

I met these little ones on the outskirts of Ruashi, outside a small church we were working in. It was dry season and was very dusty. The dirt there is literally red, as well as all the houses- which are made of mud from the dirt. There was also no grass. After a few minutes your body is covered in a thin layer of red.

It’s a fascinating place. Very poor. These children were some of the most curious I've ever met. They were so eager for a glance or a smile...and fixated on the camera.
