[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
As a symbol of my flight back in few hours, a new shot of this emblematic representant of the congolese wet areas. This shot reminds me the japanese stamps with the royal crown and i kept the same tittle as the previous one.
Almost 1,5 meter high for 1,8 m wingspan, this bird is more and more affected by the human presure with polution (gold mines and forest exploitaions) as most of the local wildlife... A chance, they are inedible...
Probably back soon in Congo for few weeks and it will be Kenya after... That will be an other story ;-)

Bonjour Frank,

Emma

Hello Frank.
What a magnificent looking bird, majestic in this pose. Your notes indicate it is a very large bird yet it looks supremely graceful. I think you have got a perfect exposure here, with the slightest of blurring at the wing tips. In its composition it is also very good with the bird positioned just left of centre. The green foliage behind and the rich brown of the river convey a strong sense of the jungle and contrast so well with the white feathers. Thanks for your interesting note; I must now go and look at your previous upload.
Regards,
Andrew

Hello Frank,
Just looking at some of your photos and this one is a beauty. This bird looks magnificent, very well captured as it is taking off, very good contrast against the nice green foliage.
Luckily they are not edible otherwise they would have been extinct long ago.
Regards
Santo
