Here is picture taken in a school last year in Bangui, capital city of Central African Republic. Situated about 500 miles north of the equator, the Central African Republic is a landlocked nation bordered by Cameroon, Chad, the Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Republic of Congo….
The geographical situation made it the most difficult country to reach (out of a total of 134 countries traveled up to now). It is only 450 km from the border from Cameroon, but it took us over 2 days to get there with 54 checkpoints trying to get money from us. Armed, corrupted, drunken and drugged army, presidential guards, police, gendarmes were waiting for the only whites daring crossing…. With patience, luck, smile and fooliness, I made it through by road after …. I can still not imagine how I did ….

I was exhausted arriving and give me one day rest before getting to the school…. Where I saw finally how kids can be smiling in spite of difficult situation….. What happen to those kids when they grow up ?
