During the midst of August rainy season starts on Cabo Verde. We could witness live from a balcony when the streets turned into small, brown rivers. This boy is trying to flee from the heavy rainfalls that poured onto Mindelo that day, more jumping than running and crossing Avenida Capitao Ambrosio, close to the city center of Mindelo and near the Rua Lisboa.
Although the amount of rain is not very big, rainfalls can come quite concentrated, sometimes the annual rainfall comes down in two or three rainy days. Even though this boy seemed to run away, most of the kids seemed to enjoy the end of the dry season a lot, jumpong around in the water puddles, just having fun.
I was trying to use a short shutter time to freeze the raindrops, but now i am not sure if the effect was what i desired, the image looks a bit noisy.

great capture with a lot of happening and atmosphere in it. Great timing to have the boy in the air as well.

I'm not sure of the rain effect you were trying to realize, but I can tell you that it shows that it's raining! Without being spectacular, this is an interesting scene giving an idea of this square and the architecture around. The jumping boy was caught at the best moment. The pedestrian walking away and the man sheltering from rain sort of participate in the scene too. About the black car, I can't really decide if I like it to be there or not; so I guess it's not that bad.
Thought they had problem with lack of water in Cape Verde, that it was a limitation for tourism development. Doesn't show here.
