Photographer’s Note

My 700th photo shown at TE
shows a typical house from Santo Antao island/Cape Verde. And sugarcane, mainly used to destilate groque.
This house is in the valley of Tarrafal de Monte Trigo,a village with about 600 inhabitants, situated in the west of the island.
The road(no you can`t call it a road) to Tarrafal is a nightmare.50 kilometers from Porto Novo = 2,5-3 hours.
From Porto Novo to there I was sitting(3 hours) on the back of a pickup,an incredible bumpy ride.
On my way back I was more lucky.I had a seat in Daniel`s Range Rover(2,5 hours).Daniel from Germany is the owner of this website.
To have an idea where Tarrafal is situated, please have a look at this link and scroll a bit.
at the right side you can see the track I drove.Try to follow it to Porto Novo in the south east of the island.
Have a nice Weekend!!!
