*****700th*****, a photo from Porto Novo, Barlavento

Photographer’s Note

My 700th photo shown at TE
shows a typical house from Santo Antao island/Cape Verde.And sugarcane,mainly used to destilate groque.
This house is in the valley of Tarrafal de Monte Trigo,a village with about 600 inhabitants,situated in the west of the island.
The road(no you can`t call it a road) to Tarrafal is a nightmare.50 kilometers from Porto Novo = 2,5-3 hours.
From Porto Novo to there I was sitting(3 hours) on the back of a pickup,an incredible bumpy ride.
On my way back I was more lucky.I had a seat in Daniel`s Range Rover(2,5 hours).Daniel from Germany is the owner of this website.

at the right side you can see the track I drove.Try to follow it to Porto Novo in the south east of the island.

Wonderful light, especially over the sugarcane (used for grog or grogue (two 'gg')).
Tarrafal de Monte Trigo is certainly a kind of "end of the world" location. In Bing or Google Maps there is not even a 'road' marked to go there.

Nach der Saukälte von letzter Nacht, bin ich dir wirklich dankbar für diesen sonnigen Eindruck. Mir gefällt hier deine Bildgestaltung ganz hervorragend. Das graue Steinhäuschen bildet einen tollen Kontrast zu den sonnenbeschienenen Gräsern. Vor allem die weissen Blüten sind klasse getroffen.

Exposure (management of light) is a real highlight in this one! Composition is also excellent: effective and quite attractive with those stony constructions and nature around perfectly matched... cleverly and nicely placed in the frame!
