I thought this woman against the plain wall would make a nice picture. Only when I saw the photograph on my computer screen did I notice that she had a baby hidden away, only one arm visible.

Hi Gert,
There is beauty everywhere, even in poor places, of course. The young woman with her bright dress, it's a strong contrast with the harsh background. Maybe the young woman is giving milk to the baby.

we can't see the baby's face but i hope it looks happier than the mother ;)

A nice portrait, Gert. I like the color contrast of the pastel background and forground against the bright yellow of the lady's scarf. Nicely seen and captured. On a nit-picking note: it seems, the focus is not on the lady's face, but on the wall.
