Timeless Hardship - IV Photo

Photographer’s Note

After a few weeks away, let me continue my series of Cape Verde Fishermen.
This boat has also a sail made of re-used materials, but it has an unusual color among the others (see a zoomed photo of it in the workshop). It is approaching the shore in Baía das Gatas (click for location; click also Map here at left). This picture is to the right of my previous of the series (Timeless Hardship - III). Here you see already the tiny fishing hamlet, at right.

Espero que tenhas voltado cheio de força e de fotos novas. Cabo Verde continua a ser um país fascinante e só é pena estar um bocado fora de mão para mim. A foto está bonita e mostra bem as duras condições de vida na terra. Gosto da barco do WS.

Tava sumido do TE, mas bom ter você de volta! Bonita imagem desse lugar, o barco ficou muito bom e aguas bem claras nesse mar!

Olá Francisco, bonito, muito bonito e este bocadinho de praia em 1º plano ficou a matar. A vela preta ajuda a contrastar mais com as montanhas. Uma paisagem espectacular.

Olá Francisco,

uma paisagem muito bonita você resgatou nessa composição. A inclusão do braco bem ao fundo nos referencia a dimensão do lugar. Muito bonita a cor da água e as montanhas ao fundo. A imagem está bem agradável. Parabéns! Fiz um ws alterando um pouco os contrastes. Veja se gosta.

Ola amigo as ferias foram boas:), ainda bem que tas de volta!!
Voltaste com mais uma bela foto de Cabo Verde , o barco completa a paisagem , a cor da agua e muito bela , tomava um banho nessa agua agora , este ano não fui a praia ainda :)

Super composition, Francisco. This image might also work well in b/w. The placement of the rocks in the foreground is especially welcome, and leads the eye in very nicely. well done!

I do like the framing here with the detail of the beach. Like you, I like the colors in tBelido's WS better. I like tha way the zoomed in photo of the boat shows the rig more clearly. Is that called a lanteen rig? SAA, Pat

Hi Francisco,

There is something here about the black sail that works really well . .it is striking and relates to these near rocks .. and by the way the way the rocks lead from beach into the water I think is tremendous as well.
