Photographer’s Note
After my yesterday´s post with the view at Tarrafal.I show you today Vila Da Ribeira Brava, the capital of Sao Nicolau island.
The town of Ribeira Brava (Stancha) is the other name that comes from several streams in the valley areas in the mountains to the west and also in the centre. The town is located between the two mountains and buildings stretches hundreds of metres within Ribeira Brava. It serves the island and the municipal capital of São Nicolau (after 2005, municipally excludes the new Tarrafal de São Nicolau. Its population is 4,982. Ribeira Brava is linked with a road linking to Tarrafal de São Nicolau on the southwestern part of the island, south to its nearest port Campo and to the eastern half of the island as well.
In my workshop you see a view from the opposite side.

Hi Leo,
ich vermisse zwar das Meer, aber nichts desto trotz ein nettes Foto. Mir gefallen die Farben der Gebäude. Schön eingefangen,

Hallo Leo
Both this and WS are fine views of Ribeira Brava (the name means "wild brook" or "wild creek"; it's found in many places named by the Portuguese).
Indeed, your today's post is similar to mine, but yours is more colorful and more cozy. It's Cape Verde ;-)

This is a nice central composition. I like the photo's clarity and colors. A good idea to combine this fountain with the panorama in background.
All the best

Hallo Andreas!

Hi Leo, I've been browsing through your beautiful and versatile Cabo Verde portfolio (I must admit that I hadn't seen it before) and a song from Cesaria Evora is playing in my head now. What I like here is the contrast of the formal square and the more free formed space and the intersting local architecture of the town and the gently rolling hills in the background. The great depth is nice too and I enjoy the good tech.
Very good work - TFS!
Have a fine week,
Bert

Seems like many small villages in Brazilian inland, Andreas. A very nice POV, indeed, and a beautiful image.

Funny this photo. A small buldings and thw few people presents make it look a cinematographic city, where all building has only the façade, it looks a Zorro movie scenary. :)
Good colors and POV, showing the square and the church. Did you take photos of the church alone and inside it?

This is a beautiful view Leo of what I presume is the central place of the capital. The colours are lovely even in the harsh sun & the backdrop of the hill in the BG gives depth to this composition. The view in the WS is also good, but with the fountain, the original version has a slight edge

Hallo Andreas,
I like this composition and the POV that you have used, that it gathers a good field of vision and many elements to see in the photo.
The source in foreground is perfect, and it centers our glance in the surroundings of this nice square, with pretty buildings of colors, adding in background the hill with the houses that raise by their slope and a splendid sky.
But what it has called to me more the attention is that people is in the shade of the building protecting itself of the sun, in contrast to the rest of the desert square.
Good work.
Regards,
Josep

Hey
A very beautiful and colourful photo. Maybe i would have liked the fountain a bit more off the center. Even so a great capture. Well done.
