Photographer’s Note
2 points????
no, the ball did not hit the basket.
Behind football,( I posted a foto 2 days ago)basketball is the second favourite sport in Cape Verde.
This is a little sport park in Espargos, the capital of Sal island.
Behind the fence in the background is Sal international airport(code:SID)
Most tourists visiting Cape Verde stay on this island and go to Santa Maria, where are more than 30 hotels up to 5 star resorts. It never rains, the beach is nice but it`s incredible windy.Every year a surf worldcup competition happens here.

Amazing shot Leo. it's a pity that you used a too long exposure to catch the ball with more focus, but all the rest is really beautiful.
the sunset colours are wonderful, as the contrast with the palyground, the trees and the net.
great shot.
thanks, ciao

Well, Andreas,
I give you two points for this "shot". Something unusual here, but not bad.

Luc.

hi leo,
it´s more a 3-pointer.
basketball at sunset, not bad,
i´ve played outside with snow on the ground
but never in the dark.*g*
excellent sunset-capture with cool silhouttes
and beautiful colors.
well done & take care, thor.

Hi Andreas,
Good shot, the sunset colors are really amazing and the use of sillhouettes very well placed.

Excellent, original idea, Leo, quite well executed. The combination of a restful fixed background like a sunset with a fast-action game works really well. Two suggestions that might make it even better: move the backboard away from the center of the image (maybe crop from the right) and include some players (silhouettes) in the shot. Regards, Ken.

Hi Leo, clever shot, it's a beautiful sunset, I think the ball really makes a superb enhancement. The fact that we don't see any silhouettes of players, as we probably expect, makes this even more mysterious. Regards, Daniel

Hallo Andreas,
The ball would not enter the basket, but the photo would have to be worth 3 points. I cannot describe with words the beauty of this sky with a lot of clouds with a spectacular light and colors, and the rest of the set in a perfect backlighting.
Excellent shot.
Regards my friend,
Josep

Holly Cow! This certainly isn't a "typical" Cabo Verde photo. A well captured sunset, with action, just like your football shot. This photo however, doesn't have any human silhouettes, but we get a good sense of people being around with that ball in mid air. Great capture!

Ryan

Hi Leo,
This is such an unusual original image and, as such, makes a pleasant change to some of the more usual postings.
The colours and the contrasting silhouette are great and capturing the ball in motion adds movement that would normally be absent in a pic of this type. I really like it!
Hugs,
Tony

Hello Leo,
great shot, both with camera and ball. The silhouettes are very nice and the colors of the sky are fantastic. Basketball is my second favorite sport too but after waterpolo. Have a nice WE!

Hi, Andreas!
2 points from all TE members for this masterpiece. Sunset scenes most of time static and not very interesting, but this one - You added action and wonderful title!
Keep going in this style!

Ivars.

Hello Andreas,
The sky in fire, alone, is already fantastic. But with this ball to the basket,it is a VERY GOOD idea !!

A wonderfully creative take on a sunset, the sky is just spectacular all by itself, but the basketball hoop really adds interest to the shot. Your note is very informative about the area too, well done.
