Photographer’s Note

I wanted to do a trekking tour round the Cova crater(1200m),but there haven been clouds between about 800 and 1300 m.So I walked the street to reach it`s highest point at about 1400m.above the clouds.
In the mountans there are only a few verry small villages.Most children ask for a bonbon, biscuit or foto.This girl asked too,but I think she has never seen such a big camera with a 77mm lens before.
Off course I gave her some biscuits, and when I showed her the foto on the display there was a smile.

Hi Andreas,
She is cute and having for you and your camera a serious look, not so trustful ...
But finally she smiled to you as you said.
Maybe the shot is a bit overexposed.
Better not to give bonbons to children over there.
Biscuits are better even if sometimes giving is not the best thing to do.
I plan to go back to Cape Verde to spend Christmas there and begin the year in a place important to me.

This is a great shot and one that has superb composition. The light is a touch strong, but you have captured the details on the child's face splendidly. I like the eye contact too and the slight tilt of the head. Very good work.

It is a beautiful picture of this adorable little girl, with a perfect definition and magnificent colors. Pretty glance that seems of annoyance but it initiates a smile.
