Still the Ngondo festival I told you about. A great annual festival took place in Douala this week-end. It is called the Ngondo festival and it gathers all the Sawa people (people from the coast).

Many events have been surrounding this animist celebration dedicated to the "Jengu" or "Ondine", the gods from the Wouri river : dances from each tribes of the City, traditional fighting, a traditional Miss election, etc...

Here, this is the start from the traditionnal race. a dozens of boats are competing on the Wouri river during a 30 minutes race. Unfortunately, right after the start, 2 boats drowned close from the shore creating a mix of burst of anger and laughs.

Bonjour Steven,

Bon dimanche,
Pris.

Captured at the perfect moment. Nice perspective and excellent documentation work.

Nice one, Steven.
Though, I think whites are a bit
too white for my taste - looks like
the weather was overcast and there's
no reason for white areas to be burnt out.
Also, what's the purpose of leaving
the arm/leg(?) in the lower right corner
uncropped?

Hi Steven!
I like this, especially the man in the foreground, who seems to be shouting and waving. I guess I would have cropped the arm on the right but I like this shout. It's a good moment of the celebration!

My friend: this one is magical: the motion, the content, the color....
