[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Big parts of Cameroun are covered by thick rainforest. About 150km from Douala a road turns into a village and down to the forest. It is more than 10 km from here to the Ekom waterfalls. The very impressive waterfall is the biggest in Cameroun with its 80 meters drop. The scenery was made famous in the Tarzan-film Greystoke.
I uploaded a similar photo last year but I think this one is better with a rainbow and a bit of blue sky.
waterfall is usually a geological formation resulting from water, often in the form of a stream, flowing over an erosion-resistant rock formation that forms a sudden break in elevation.

Some waterfalls form in mountain environments where erosion is rapid and stream courses may be subject to sudden and catastrophic change. In such cases, the waterfall may not be the end product of many years of water action over a region, but rather the result of relatively sudden geological processes such as landslides, faults or volcanic action.
Type of waterfalls:
Block: Water descends from a relatively wide stream or river.
Cascade: Water descends a series of rock steps.
Cataract: A large waterfall.
Fan: Water spreads horizontally as it descends while remaining in contact with bedrock.
Horsetail: Descending water maintains some contact with bedrock.
Plunge: Water descends vertically, losing contact with the bedrock surface.
Punchbowl: Water descends in a constricted form, then spreads out in a wider pool.
Segmented: Distinctly separate flows of water form as it descends.
Tiered: Water drops in a series of distinct steps or falls.
Multi-Step: A series of waterfalls one after another of roughly the same size each with its own sunken plunge pool.

Une image superbe et tres impressionante avec cet arc en ciel qui se forme au dessus des chutes et cette vegetation si dense. Heureusement il y a encore des endroits comme celui la ou ca existe encore!

che sia un posto stupendo e incontaminato traspare dalla tua foto veramente molto bella per nitidezza, colori e punto di ripresa. I like this photo of yours. It's full of everything which makes it interesting even the 10th time you look at it. It has also a nice view of these two waterfalls ending in misty fault, rainbow and forest. Very good.

Lovely shot, Alberto! It is not the way I would normally picture African landscape so it's been quite informative to me. Excellent capture of the rainbow, too. Tres bien fait!

Très belle vue d'Ekom. Un endroit qui reste à découvrir pour moi. Ce petit arc en ciel est excellent et on ressent bien la puissance des flots.

Est-ce pris des hauteurs ou es-tu descendu pour cette prise ? La cascade est-elle aussi grosse en juin à ton avis ?

Que paisaje tan bello, sin duda el lugar es impresionante, has creado una buena composición desde un punto de vista alto, excelente contraste entre el agua de la cascada y las zonas verdes de al rededor, el pequeño arco iris junto con la luz crea una fantástica atmósfera.

An excellent shot of the waterfall. The wide view is excellent & so are the details. We can see the water plunging below creating the cloud of mist over which hovers the beautiful rainbow. The river it seems has created a gorge as it moves towards the right. Wonderful!

Superbe photo. Le point de vue est magnifique, avec cette chute et cet arc en ciel qui en decoule.
