We met this girl during our walk up to the Manengouba heights just before reaching a Peul village (also called Bororo or Mbororo in Cameroon). She was helping a group of a dozens of young girls and one boy collecting woods for the fireplaces since the average temperature is quite cool at about 1600m high.

After a 4 hour drive from Douala and leaving its oppressive water saturated atmosphere at 30°C, it was a great relief to discover that cool place. The walk was certainly not easy but coming across fresh rivers and waterfalls, contemplating round green hills and larges spaces was a real reward.

We noticed that Peul families were gathered by compact groups of house surrounded by croppings with beautiful vegetables. There area is an old volcanic chain so the Peul people benefit from a very fertile environnement with deep green grasses for their cows and perfect grounds for their croppings. I've read it's quite unusual for Peul people to stick to a specific place but I guess that the great environnement was one reason for this choice.

About twenty minutes later that encounter, we entered the village itself, met smiling and welcoming old women then the old patriarch.

Un ravissant portrait avec de très belles couleurs de fond! J'aime beaucoup, bonne journée, Léonie

Hi Steven..nicely captured shot of this young girl. the pose is very natural and the claity with the blurring of the background works well to bring out the subject...
