This young man and his younger brother were curious to see what the foreign visitors were doing at the waterfall near their farm.

The situation is nice and the pose is good but so much of this shot is overexposed Doug. Im not a stickler on overexposure, I think it can help to set a mood sometime, but here I think too much is overexposed

actually in many circustances plenty can be done about overexposure, be it exposing for highlights and recovering shadows or fill in flash. Whether it was possilbe or not in this case only you would know.
I agree that in this case completely white sky isn't a problem, it even is a plus, I wish however the straws of grass weren't inforont of their faces, and the colour of the grass is like a highlighter, screaming for attention.
