[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm back to Douala right during the rainy season. Today, my wife and I met some friends to visit the Ossa lake located close to Edea at a two hours drive south of Douala. The sky was heavily cloudy as usual in August but we had some luck and the rain stopped few time.

Here, we took a shot from the Sanaga river, one of the major river from Cameroun. The water was heavily muddy. We were lucky to see that women padding along the shore. Surprisingly, people in the area benefit from descent tracks and are not cut from the rest of the world as I could imagine before getting there.

The Ossa lake itself was really dull. We stopped for a lunch on the heights of the lake then walked down to its shore. At that time, the rain came and I couldn't get any interesting shot. I'll have to come back there later this year.

Great POV and good timing .The boat is placed perfect in the gap between these plants.Wonderful colors of the river and good depth with the reflections at the horizon.

Perfect positioning! The boat is in just the right spot, with the grass and plants on the shore appearing to frame her as she moves along the river. Wonderful lighting too, with the reflection off the water making it appear very light and showing the boat in outline very well. Excellent!

What a lovely lightning you got on this shot! It looks really peaceful and good positioning on the boat.

Salut Steven,
This is a very National Geographic-esque photograph. The color progression from gray to red-brown of the river water is astonishing. The way you fit the boat in between the bushes creates a easy point of focus for the eye. Also, such a capture gives us a lesson about the culture in this part of the world. Thanks for sharing a photo that is both visually beautiful and also informative.

Excellent! The focusing is consistent throughout the image. The flow of the picture creates movement to the horizon. Nice work.....

Belle image, très bien composée, aux très jolies couleurs. Les pluies ont l'air d'être au rendez-vous cette année....signe de fertilité des champs pour l'avenir et de bonnes récoltes si nécesaires.

Les couleurs sont vraiment tres fortes sur ta photo: le vert dense de la vegetation qui encadre dans un V la couleur cuivre du lac qui porte la barque et vers le haut les teintes gris-bleues des nuages lourds de pluie.
Ta photo attire vraiment le regard,

You see the thumbnail and you know it has to be Africa, though I haven't been in Cameroon yet. I worked in Angola and Sudan for a bit longer time and it were wonderful experiences.

Nice point of view and right on time with the woman entering the shot! Very nice, and with a good note!

J'aime beaucoup la couleur un peu rosé du fleuve en contraste avec le ciel un peu gris et la végétation sombre.Jolie composition avec cette barque au 1er plan.Ambiance sereine

A very peaceful image with great luminosity once again. The pastel colors are marvelous. These stormy weathers really produces great pictures. The composition is simple, but who needs complexity when simplicity can produce such beautiful results? Love the quality of the white on the woman's shirt.
