[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a vista point from Limbe taken above the sea quite close from the Botanic garden. Limbe is an average size city located along the Atlantic Ocean at one hour and a half drive north of Douala.

This place is quite rainy due to its location close to the tropics and the nearby Cameroon Mount which is 4000m high looks to block the clouds over the city. On top of that, august is right in the middle of the rainy season in this part of Africa.

Limbe is one of the two easy places you can join from Douala to spend the week-end at the beach. The second one is Kribi located at the south of Douala.

Limbe is marked by black sand beaches due to the volcanic surroundings and rocky islands emerging from the sea. On the way back home we drove around a huge lava layer which destroyed the main coastal road in 1999.

Limbe also used to be one of the largest harbour on this western coast of Africa since it has a direct access to the Ocean which is not the case of Douala located on the Wouri river. Nervetheless, the traffic went down slowly and apart from the oil tankers supplied by the local rafinery most of the traffic goes to Douala.
