[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Mchirgue peak, one of the most outstanding places at sunset, Extreme-North of Cameroon along the Nigerian border. The area is roughly 1100m high and this peak reaches 1224m.

People from this area are Kapsiki named after the mountains around. There are about 25 Kapsiki villages with a common local language on this side of the border. Most of them used to be animists but a significant part was turned into catholic religion now.

One of the funny thing to experiment in this village is to meet the Crab sorcerer who can teach you few things about your future if you ask him a question and provide him with the appropriate tip.

The place is quite easy to find but the road up to Rhumsiki is quite exhausting. It takes roughly 2h30 of a bumpy, rocky track to get there.

I took this shot when climbing back to the village after we walked down the valley. The light became nicer and nicer. We were lucky since we normally face Harmattan at this time of the year. The Sahara wind would bring a dusty atmosphere which does wrap everything into a misty look.

The previous day was really disappointing because of the haze but it ran the whole night and when we got up, the sky got cleared leaving place to this nice blue sky I strengthened using the polarizer.

I haven't seen many shots from the Cameroons, but this is a spectacular start! The rocky peak is very dramatic, and the lighting coming from the side really enhances that. The golden light from the sunrise adds a nice contrast with the cool blue of the sky. Wonderufl work!

Hello Steven,
I like your decision in placing the fault line of these rocks into the scene. The color is fantastic,
Good Job...
Steve
