Photographer’s Note
Nothing to technically great, I know. Just a proud grandmother with a happy mother behind her. ...yes, a very young mother. This was taken in a village on the southern shores of Lake Lagdo. It was a great little village full of happy people who were probably more interested in me than I was of them.
To any who are thinking of a visit to Cameroon, I would highly recommend it. One of my favorite countries as a whole, encompassing everything from beautiful beaches to dense rain forest to savannah to mountains to chaotic cities to wonderful people and great history.

Hi John,
She does indeed seem to be a young mother, but a very loving one and a very beautiful one. The grandmother looks so proud and happy with her granchild and the baby of course is gorgeous! I love the bright colours and I think the photo is technically quite strong in spite of the blurriness of the mother in the background. I actually know a lovely woman from Mauritania who looks strikingly similar to this grandmother, so this photo makes me happier still. Nice job!
