Villages from the border
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is the Mchirgue peak, one of the most outstanding places at sunset, Extreme-North of Cameroon along the Nigerian border. The area is roughly 1100m high and this peak reaches 1224m.
People from this area are Kapsiki named after the mountains around. There are about 25 Kapsiki villages with a common local language on this side of the border. Most of them used to be animists but a significant part was turned into catholic religion now.
One of the funny thing to experiment in this village is to meet the Crab sorcerer who can teach you few things about your future if you ask him a question and provide him with the appropriate tip.
The place is quite easy to find but the road up to Rhumsiki is quite exhausting. It takes roughly 2h30 of a bumpy, rocky track to get there.
This house is one of the many in the larger valley delimiting the border between Nigeria and Cameroon. People here are living from agriculture and from little tools they make for people around. |

Bonsoir Steven
Amicalement
Bertrand
Hello Steven,
These colors are superb.
You managed well with light to provide such tones.
Impressive rock too.
Nice job,
Regards,
JB.
Very unique and interesting scene.
Great light and exposure.
With Easter greetings, A.
Hi Steven,
Excellent sharpness front to back and nice strong colors. Did the man teach you how to PP this picture? (:

Hi Steven,
Great image! Certainly looks a barren and desolate place. Love the contrast between the shades of brown and the vivid blue of the sky!
Good sharpness and details, stunning! TFS
Cheers Tina :-)

Absolutely wonderful capture, Steven!
Not only it is in true TE spirit, showing
us what we have no chance to see very often,
but also the way you took it and the accompanying
notes that follow your every upload.
Warm light, natural colours, great details and
sharpness - I'm really surprised this one didn't
get more critiques!?
Cheers,
Robi
