This is Goulfey, a nice and calm village from the North Cameroon, close to the Chad lake. This little town is one of the northerst ones in Cameroon and is known for its Sao people who erected really interesting houses made out of clay.
This picture was taken from the highest spot in town, on the roof of the museum. Sao people believe this used to be a protected spot where the Giant Sao would leave their children when living the villages few days. From their hand, they would pick and drop each child on the top of this roof which is about 10m high. The stairs are said to have been built recently to allow normal people to reach the roof now the Giants are not existing anymore... |

Bonjour Steven,
Les constructions de terre sont impressionnantes de beauté et de simplicité et le point de vue choisi met bien en valeur ces caractéristiques. C'est juste un peu dommage que toutes ne soient pas à l'unisson. Joli cliché.
Amicalement.
