The queen

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is "the queen" in he Waza National Park in North Cameroon.
At that time I was supervising local village water program projects around the park to fix the population (i.e. to avoid them going in the park).
Going through the park early morning and before the night I had the chance to see some animals. This is one of them. It is the only time I had a chance to see a lioness and a cub.

Picture taken from the car (for obvious reason!) using a 300mm Nikon (f/4.5) and a Nikon F2. The Kodachrome 64 slide has been scanned using a Coolscan V. |

Oh the poor queen looks bored to me. Looking for a easy meal without too much effort perhaps. I am glad you were in your car when you took this. Nice capture showing the blurred lion in the background. I think the photo could use a little sharpening though. Thanks for sharing!
Nice shot of the wildlife. Great scan. Good comp and dof. My only complaint would be cutting the tail off, but hey it was taken in 1984 so there is not much you are going to do about it. TFS
Cheers
Ben
